A native of Cincinnati, Catherine Wagner Minnery graduated from the Art Academy of Cincinnati and the University of Cincinnati. She is a resident of Saratoga Springs New York, a location that allows for quick access to the Adirondack Mountains. The Adirondacks, Upstate New York and the Hudson River Vallery are often the focus for her work but in 2002, she traveled to Rwanda, Africa with Catholic Relief Services and produced an exhibit from the experience that has been exhibited in the Albany/Troy/Shenectady NY area as well as in New York City and Baltimore MD.Rwanda and its people are destined to become a life long interest. Recent ravel to Nicaragua and other Central American countries has also influenced her images.In 2002, her work was included in the juried "53rd Annual Art of the Norteast" in New Caanan CT. In 2001, she exhibited at Gallery @49 in New York in a group show titled " 8 from the Series" that celebrated the work of artists who were part of the New York Times, "In Art's Footsteps"; a 10 part series that revisited locations illuminated by the Hudson River Artists.Her work is included in private and corporate collections.
In November, 2003, she opened "working" Gallery/Studio in Schenectady NY. Minnery's work can also be seen at the Piermont Flywheel Gallery @ Piermont Landing in Piermont NY where she has been a member since February, 2004.
